Our research continues into green products like WheatBoard cabinets, MDF substrates, printed wood veneers, bamboo laminates, recyclable metal structures, bio-degradable plastics, recycled furniture, recycled antique wood flooring and more new green products being developed each day. As a matter of company policy, Green Globe Productions is committed to the continual research for more renewable and recyclable materials. Read about one of our favorite products below.

Medium Density Fiberboard (MDF) is a product that is finding its way into the arena of green building. MDF is one of four main categories of wood based panels: laminated boards, particle boards, fiber boards and oriented strand boards.

These different types of boards are distinguished by the level of conversion of the wood raw material into veneers, particles or fibers. MDF is a type of fiberboard made from wood or other lignocellulosic materials, refined into fibers and reconstituted with a resin binder (glue) carried out at elevated temperatures.

The raw wood material can be in almost any form and in almost any mixture such as low grade wood trees, branches, small diameter trees, hardwood, softwood, mill-waste and forestry waste chips. Our favorite board is made from the waste stems and husks left over from harvesting wheat.  As such, the recovery rate of the raw material in this “wheat board” is almost 100%.
